THE STORY OF
WILL POWELL
Will Powell is a championship-winning endurance racing driver and sports executive whose career defies convention. Without a karting background or family funding, he built his way into professional motorsport through an exceptional talent for networking, a deep understanding of the sports business landscape, and sheer determination.

Origins
FROM AUTOMOTIVE JOURNALISM
TO THE RACING GRID
Powell's journey began as a road tester for Autocar Magazine, one of the UK's most respected motoring publications. It was here that he developed an intimate understanding of vehicle dynamics, performance engineering, and the wider automotive industry that would become the foundation of both his business and racing careers.
He transitioned into vehicle marketing at Jaguar Land Rover, honing expertise in performance car promotion and brand strategy. The entrepreneurial instinct soon took hold — he founded MP Media, a sports marketing agency that caught the attention of industry leaders. The agency was subsequently acquired by Chime Sports Entertainment (now Wasserman), where Powell rose to the position of Vice President of Motorsport (2012–2015), overseeing commercial strategy and client relationships across the motorsport sector.
His commercial expertise led to a role as Commercial Consultant for Formula E (2014–2016) during the championship's formative early seasons, advising on partnerships and commercial development as the world's first fully electric racing series established itself on the global stage.
His media industry expertise also saw him take on a role as Commercial Consultant for North One Television, part of the All3Media group (2015–2019), advising on motorsport programming and commercial opportunities at one of the UK's leading sports and entertainment production companies.
In 2018, Powell founded Motus One Racing, a motorsport team and management operation that he built and led as Managing Director until its successful acquisition by One Motorsport in 2022 — a significant entrepreneurial exit in the motorsport industry.
It was during this corporate ascent that the pull of the racetrack became impossible to resist. Unlike most professional racing drivers who arrive through karting and junior formula pathways, Powell leveraged his network, commercial acumen, and raw talent behind the wheel to forge an entirely unconventional route into professional motorsport.

CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORIES
& INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Powell's racing record speaks for itself. The 2021 British Endurance Championship title — won racing a McLaren GT3 — stands as a defining achievement, but it is far from the only highlight.
Two seasons in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) demonstrated his versatility and courage at the sharp end of touring car racing. First in a CUPRA Leon, then a Honda Civic Type R, he went wheel-to-wheel with the best drivers in the UK's premier motorsport series.
Beyond domestic competition, the Michelin Le Mans in LMP3 prototype machinery expanded his repertoire into international endurance racing. A race win and fastest lap alongside David Brabham in the legendary Brabham BT62 added historic significance to an already impressive palmares. Most recently, the 2026 Hankook 24H Series Middle East campaign — racing a Toyota GR Supra GT4 with Sustain Racing — marks his latest international challenge.
His precision driving skills also extended beyond the racetrack — from 2019 to 2022, he served as a Precision and Vehicle Integration Driver for Codemasters, the celebrated racing game studio, contributing his real-world expertise to the authentic simulation of vehicle dynamics in their critically acclaimed titles.
With an FIA Silver driver rating, ARDS Grade A instructor certification, and a career podium rate of 25%, Powell has established himself among the most accomplished and versatile gentleman racing drivers in Britain.
